Atike Sultan or Burnaz Atike Sultan, Istanbul, daughter of the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I , IV. She is the sister of Murad I. İbrahim and Şehzade Kasım .

Atike Sultan was born in Istanbul , in Topkapi Palace. Atike Sultan was orphaned when Ahmed I died in 1617. After this, his uncle Mustafa I ascended the throne, but a few months later he was deposed and replaced by his brother, II. Osman ascended the throne. By the order of Mahfiruz Hatice Sultan , the mother of the Sultan of the era , Kösem Sultan was sent to the Old Palace. Born to Kösem Sultan in 1623 , his older brother, IV. Murad ascended the throne and Kösem Sultan became Valide Sultan.

 Atike Sultan was married to Cafer Pasha in her youth. Atike Sultan was appointed specifically for the education of İbrahim 's first wife, Turhan Sultan , in the palace and IV. Mehmed She helped Governance, that is, in her upbringing and training. She married first to Cafer Pasha, then to Cafer Pasha in 1633. After the death of her husband in 1647, she married Koca Kenan Pasha. When Kenan Pasha died in 1652 while he was still a vizier, Atike Sultan married Doğancı Yusuf Pasha in the same year. He has no known children.

The exact date of death is unknown. After his death, she was buried next to his brother İbrahim in the Hagia Sophia Mosque .

Who is Atike Sultan?


Atike Sultan or Burnaz Atike Sultan (1614-1674, Istanbul), Istanbul) was the daughter of the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I, born from Kösem Sultan, IV.

She is the sister of Murad, the twin sister of Şehzade Kasım and the older sister of Ibrahim I. He was born in Istanbul in 1614 in Topkapi Palace. He is the twin brother of Şehzade İbrahim. She sees no harm in rebelling against her mother, the settled rules of the palace. He is the most loved member of the family by Sultan Murad. Âtike is precious to Sultan Murad's older brother. Atike, who is also close with Farya; Over time, he came face to face with his mother Kösem Sultan and his older sister Gevherhan Sultan. After his uncle Mustafa I was dethroned, his brother II. Osman became the sultan. By the decision of Young Osman, they were sent to the old palace with his mother Kösem Sultan. In 1623, his other brother, IV. Murad ascended the throne and Kösem Sultan became Valide Sultan again.


Atike Sultan's Children :

At that time, the Ottoman Empire was in crisis and Kösem Sultan gave her daughters to loyal statesmen. Hanzade Sultan was given to Bayram Pasha in 1623, Gevherhan Sultan to Topal Recep Pasha in 1624, Ayşe Sultan to Hafiz Ahmet Pasha in 1625 and Fatma Sultan to Kara Mustafa Pasha in 1626. Atike Sultan was married to Cafer Pasha in her youth.

Atike Sultan was specially assigned with the education of Turhan Sultan, the first wife of Ibrahim I, in the palace and IV. She played an important role in Mehmed's education and training. She married first to Cafer Pasha, then to Koca Kenan Pasha, who became Georgian in 1633. After this marriage that lasted for 19 years, Kenan Pasha died in 1652 when he was the second grand vizier and after Atike Sultan was widowed, he married Doğancı Yusuf Pasha in the same year. He has no known children.

How did Atike Sultan Die?


His date of death is uncertain, but it is thought to be 1674. After his death, he was buried next to his brother Ibrahim I in the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
