History Of Alaeddin Keykubad I :

Aleaddin Keykubad I, who minted coins in his own name and is known as El-Melikü'l mansûr Alaüddevle and d-din Nâsıru emiri'l mumin'in, is the son of Gıyaseddin Keyhusrev I. Aleaddin Keykubad I, who was appointed as the ruler of Tokat during the reign of his father, did not accept the reign of his elder brother Izzeddin Keykavus, who came to the throne upon the death of his father, and besieged Kayseri with the Armenian King Leon and his uncle Mugisûddin. Aleaddin Keykubad I, who was imprisoned by surrendering after the siege failed, took the throne upon the death of his elder brother Izzeddin Keykavus. During his reign, Aleaddin Keykubad I, whose first act was to fix the broken relations with the Ayyubids, strengthened his friendship relations by marrying the daughter of the Ayyubid ruler. The most important problem of his period was the Mongol invasion. He tried to take many steps against this risk, but the defeat of the Harzemshahs brought the Mongols and the Seljuks face to face, and in 1232, a Mongolian unit looted and came to the vicinity of Sivas. Aleaddin Keykubad I, who sent an envoy to the Mongol Khan with valuable gifts, tried to prevent the invasion, but was met with a request by the Mongols to submit to them. Due to the increasing Mongolian danger day by day, the people of Ahlat evacuated the region, and measures were taken to restore order here and to stand stronger against the Mongols.

Aleaddin Keykubad was a just, serious and authoritarian ruler. He personally followed the affairs of the state closely and did not tolerate those who neglected his duties. His time is the most powerful period of Seljuks. Aleaddin Keykubad I reached the borders of his country, which did not even go as far as the Euphrates in the east, to the Aras tribes and Lake Van. During his reign, the navy was created in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Thanks to the Black Sea navy, the city of Suğdak in the Crimea was connected to the Seljuk administration. At the time of his death, the Seljuks were the strongest and largest state in the Middle East.
